Review: possessives and present-tense verbs
Describe relationships and daily activities using possessives and present-tense verbs.
What you’ll work on
- Match a verb to its subject.
- Use possessions and relationships in context.
- Switch between I, we, and another person.
A short conversation
Google voice when available; device voice as a fallback. Read along, then try each line aloud.
Mi amiga Elena trabaja en una escuela.
My friend Elena works at a school.
¿Vive cerca?
Does she live nearby?
Sí. Tenemos tiempo y comemos juntas hoy.
Yes. We have time and we are eating together today.
Yo hago la tarea y después voy al museo.
I do my homework and afterward I am going to the museum.
Identify the subject of each verb
Underline the person doing each activity in the dialogue, even when the subject is understood rather than written. Elena takes trabaja and vive. Nosotros or nosotras takes tenemos and comemos. Yo takes hago and voy. An omitted pronoun does not remove the need for a matching verb.
Review regular and irregular verbs
Regular endings help with hablar, comer, vivir, estudiar, and trabajar. Tengo, hago, and voy need their own attention. Practice them in meaningful phrases: tengo tiempo, hago la tarea, voy al museo. Then change one detail without changing the subject.
Describe daily activities
Choose two people and give each a place to live and one activity. Add one sentence about what they do together. You can use y to join compatible ideas and después to put events in order. Keep the account in the present tense.
