Review: greetings and introductions
Practice greetings, introductions, and requests for clarification in one exchange.
What you’ll work on
- Retrieve familiar phrases without a word bank.
- Choose an appropriate follow-up question.
- Recover when a conversation becomes unclear.
A short conversation
Google voice when available; device voice as a fallback. Read along, then try each line aloud.
Buenas tardes. Me llamo Elena.
Good afternoon. My name is Elena.
Mucho gusto. Soy Maya.
Nice to meet you. I am Maya.
¿De dónde eres?
Where are you from?
Perdón, ¿puedes repetir?
Sorry, can you repeat?
¿De dónde eres?
Where are you from?
Soy de Canadá. ¿Y tú?
I am from Canada. And you?
Practice recalling phrases
Before opening the earlier lessons, say three things: a greeting, your name, and your origin. If a phrase is missing, look it up once, cover it, and try again. Practice recalling the phrases without reading them.
Choose a useful next question
Choose a follow-up question based on the other person’s reply. After a name, you might ask about origin. After an answer about well-being, you can return the question. In this review, keep one form of address throughout: tú with estás, te llamas, eres, and puedes.
Practice with a small change
Read the dialogue, then change the time of day, names, and places. Use invented details if you prefer. Ask for repetition once and finish with a farewell. Assess whether the other person could understand your meaning; an accent is not a failure.
Lesson vocabulary
Listen once, say it aloud, and try to recall the Spanish before looking.

Practice questions
Try every question, then check your answers. Capital letters and punctuation do not affect your score. Accents and ñ do matter.
Showing an answer makes that question a practice item worth zero for this attempt. Retry with the answers hidden when you’re ready. If audio cannot play, use Show answer / text to practice by reading.
Independent practice
These are independent practice tasks. The site does not record your voice, save your writing, or grade open-ended answers. Ask a teacher or conversation partner for feedback when you can.
Speaking practice
Speak a six-line introduction without reading, including one request for repetition.
Writing practice
Write your own version of the neighbor conversation with different names and places.
