UNIT CHECKPOINT 20 OF 30

Checkpoint: orders, prices, and times

Check quantities, prices, orders, and times.

Beginner · A1 foundationAbout 17 minutesNot started

What you’ll work on

  • Retrieve café phrases.
  • Recognize numerical information.
  • Distinguish current time from event time.
READ & LISTEN

A short conversation

Google voice when available; device voice as a fallback. Read along, then try each line aloud.

Server

Buenas tardes. ¿Algo para tomar?

Good afternoon. Something to drink?

Maya

Un té sin azúcar, por favor.

A tea without sugar, please.

Server

¿Para aquí o para llevar?

For here or to take away?

Maya

Para aquí. ¿Cuánto cuesta?

For here. How much does it cost?

Identify the requested information

Think about what the customer or listener needs to know: a drink, an ingredient, a quantity, or a time. Give the smallest accurate answer that communicates that detail.

Ask for repetition when needed

In a real café, you can ask a question again. In this checkpoint, replay listening items when needed and note which words are hardest to recognize. Finish by creating your own exchange rather than only repeating the model.

VOCABULARY

Lesson vocabulary

Listen once, say it aloud, and try to recall the Spanish before looking.

Practice questions

Showing an answer makes that question a practice item worth zero for this attempt. Retry with the answers hidden when you’re ready. If audio cannot play, use Show answer / text to practice by reading.
