Checkpoint: directions, needs, and plans
Check directions, needs, preferences, and future plans.
What you’ll work on
- Recognize route information.
- Build useful two-verb phrases.
- Choose an appropriate preference form.
A short conversation
Google voice when available; device voice as a fallback. Read along, then try each line aloud.
¿Qué vas a hacer mañana?
What are you going to do tomorrow?
Voy a ir al parque. Me gusta caminar.
I am going to go to the park. I like walking.
¿Necesitas un mapa?
Do you need a map?
Sí, por favor. ¿Dónde está el parque?
Yes, please. Where is the park?
Check two-verb constructions
In a two-verb phrase, the first verb carries the subject. The second normally stays in the infinitive in the patterns studied here. Check whether the frame needs a, as in voy a caminar.
Explain where and when to meet
Your spoken plan should tell another person what to do next: where to meet, when, and how to reach the place. After checking your answers, practice that practical message once with the page hidden.
Lesson vocabulary
Listen once, say it aloud, and try to recall the Spanish before looking.
| Spanish | English | Listen |
|---|---|---|
| el mapa | the map | |
| caminar | to walk | |
| mañana | tomorrow | |
| el parque | the park |
Practice questions
Try every question, then check your answers. Capital letters and punctuation do not affect your score. Accents and ñ do matter.
Showing an answer makes that question a practice item worth zero for this attempt. Retry with the answers hidden when you’re ready. If audio cannot play, use Show answer / text to practice by reading.
Independent practice
These are independent practice tasks. The site does not record your voice, save your writing, or grade open-ended answers. Ask a teacher or conversation partner for feedback when you can.
Speaking practice
Explain a plan, ask for directions, and respond to a suggestion that does not suit you by offering another time.
Writing practice
Write a five-sentence plan for a visitor using a place, route, preference, need, and time.
Review the lesson objectives
Select the tasks you can complete independently. This self-assessment does not change your quiz score.
