Review: directions and plans
Combine a destination, a preference, and a plan.
What you’ll work on
- Choose a route and mode of transport.
- Explain an activity preference.
- Agree on a simple future plan.
A short conversation
Google voice when available; device voice as a fallback. Read along, then try each line aloud.
Me gustan los museos. ¿Vamos a visitar uno mañana?
I like museums. Shall we visit one tomorrow?
Sí. Necesito comprar un billete.
Yes. I need to buy a ticket.
El museo está cerca del parque. Podemos ir a pie.
The museum is near the park. We can walk.
Perfecto. Voy a salir a las diez.
Perfect. I am going to leave at ten.
Muy bien. Nos vemos allí.
Very good. See you there.
Describe the details of a plan
A plan usually needs more than a verb: an activity, a place, a time, and perhaps a way to travel. Use short sentences for these details. You do not have to fit everything into one complicated sentence.
Check the second verb
After quiero, necesito, puedo, and voy a, the following action stays in the infinitive. Compare quiero visitar, necesito comprar, puedo ir, and voy a salir. The extra a belongs to the ir a frame, not automatically to every two-verb phrase.
Use a real map or an imaginary one
Choose two familiar places, describe a route, and decide whether to walk or take transport. Then explain why you want to visit one place using me gusta or me gustan. The preference should be your own, even if you invent the map.
